Jan 20 2015 City Launches Green Infrastructure Incentive Program

Businesses can take advantage of a new incentive to help make their facilities more green, Mayor Greg Fischer announced today. Louisville Metro Government’s Office of Sustainability has launched a green infrastructure incentive program, which provides matching funds for private sector commercial projects to encourage businesses to invest in green stormwater management solutions.

Thursday, May 21, 2015Omni Hotels & Resorts is bringing a new, 30+floor building to downtown Louisville.  Construction will begin later in 2015 for the multi-purpose structure situated between Second and Third Streets with Muhammad and Liberty Streets.  As city leaders and media describe the plan, there are references to the site as the “old water company block”  for good reason.   Louisville Water has always had an office building on Third Street.

Jan 13 2015 Louisville Has Plan to End Veteran Homelessness by 2016

Mayor Greg Fischer and The Coalition for the Homeless today unveiled an ambitious plan to eliminate veteran homelessness in Louisville by the end of this year. The initiative, titled Rx: Housing Veterans, will find permanent housing for the 360 known homeless veterans in our city and will rely on the resources of more than 15 local agencies.
