Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing will host an “Old-Fashioned Family Holiday Festival” on December 6, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This community holiday celebration will include photo opportunities with Santa, arriving by horse-drawn wagon at 3 p.m., as well as holiday craft activities for children, and musical performances by area church and school choirs. Other featured activities include horse-drawn wagon rides, and a silent auction of holiday wreaths.

Wednesday, November 19, 2014Preservation Louisville recently named Louisville Water Tower Park one of "Louisville's Top 10 Preservation Successes."  This award recognizes preservation projects that have successfully rehabilitated and returned a historic building to productive use. The renovated and restored interior of Pumping Station No. 1, located on Zorn Avenue and River Road, was built between1858 and 1860 as part of the city’s original Water Works.

Nov 15 2014 Commissioned glass artwork dedicated at historic chapel at Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing

A dedication event for new glass art windows was held today at the historic Moremen Family Chapel in southwest Louisville, on the grounds of Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing, 7410 Moorman Road.

The commissioned artwork, created by nationally renowned and Louisville-based artists Bob Markert and Peter Eichhorn, was made possible with a donation from Louisville Gas & Electric to the nonprofit organization that supports the historic homestead.

Louisville, KY—Louisville, Kentucky, has taken the lead nationally and approved a resolution that will use the principles of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women as a framework for local policy aimed at ending discrimination and other forms of violence against women and girls. Only one other city in the nation has done so: San Francisco.
