Training will be available to 13 counties in Kentucky, Southern Indiana

Free training to prepare people for a rising number of computer software coding jobs will be expanded by a new $2.9 million federal grant, Mayor Greg Fischer and Congressman John Yarmuth announced today.

Oct 28 2014 Low Income Heating Assistance Program Begins Nov. 3

The annual program that helps low income residents of Louisville with their utility bills begins Nov. 3. LIHEAP, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, is a federally funded program operated by Community Action Partnership, part of Louisville Metro Community Services. The Subsidy Phase of LIHEAP will run this year from Nov. 3 through Dec. 11.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (October 27, 2014)  Eight local organizations have received Mayor’s Healthy Hometown mini grants to help them provide nutritional counseling, exercise classes, instruction on how to grow vegetables, training to empower girls through running, and  an after-school gardening program.

By a unanimous vote, the Louisville Metro Council has approved a resolution of consent to transfer of control of a cable franchise from Time Warner Cable to Charter. The resolution asks Charter to retain jobs and offer a smooth subscriber transition over the next two years when the sale between the two media companies is finalized.
