Some 1,200 volunteers cleaned up alleys and roadways in Shelby Park, Smoketown, Shawnee and California.  Hundreds gathered at Meyzeek Middle School to build beds for JCPS school children who didn’t have one. More than 3,000 students walked for compassion through downtown Louisville as part of the international WE Day. And still others repaired bikes for refugees or landscaped area nonprofits.

Mayor Greg Fischer today joined Councilwoman Barbara Sexton Smith, the Concerned Pastors of Russell and representatives of the Louisville Central Community Centers (LCCC) to announce a formal agreement to implement an Arts, Cultural and Commercial District along West Muhammad Ali Boulevard between 6th and 21st streets.

Thanks to funding provided by the Kentuckiana Planning and Development Agency, four new classes for seniors will be offered at the Berrytown Recreation Center, 1300 Heafer Road, near Anchorage.

Classes on line dancing, painting, yard art, and how to live a healthy lifestyle will be offered on various days.

Apr 21 2017 Proposed Title V Operating Permit: LG&E Mill Creek Generating Station

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise an operating permit for LG&E Mill Creek Generating Station (Electric Energy Generating Facility), 14460 Dixie Highway, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The 30-day public comment period starts April 23, 2017, and ends on May 23, 2017.  The significant revision is to incorporate Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR) applicable requirements. The listed item is the only part of the operating permit that is available for public comment. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.
