Jan 19 2017 Redevelopment of Colonial Gardens moves forward

Plans were filed today for a $5 million redevelopment of Colonial Gardens in south Louisville.

The adaptive reuse project includes renovating the 7,000-quare-foot historic Colonial Gardens building, as well as adding two new, one-story buildings that will share a common patio and garden area.

Jan 11 2017 King holiday week waste collection schedule

There will be no garbage, junk, recycling or yard waste collection on Monday, January 16 within the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.

Collection will resume Tuesday, January 17 and will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. (Example: residents that have a Monday pickup will have collection on Tuesday.)

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control Board will hold a public hearing on Agreed Board Orders with ConAgra Foods Frozen Foods LLC and Swift Pork Company.  ConAgra Foods Frozen Foods LLC is alleged to have violated District Regulation 5.15 (Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions) at the facility located at 12650 Westport Road in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Swift Pork Company is alleged to have violated District Regulations 1.13 (Control of Objectionable Odors in the Ambient Air) and 2.17 (Federally Enforceable District Origin Operating Permits) at the facility located at 1200 Story Avenue.  APCD Regulation 5.15
