Sep 27 2016 Early LIHEAP Registration for Elderly and Disabled Individuals Begins Monday, October 3

Home heating costs can be a large expense for families in the winter, so Louisville Metro Department of Community Services will begin accepting pre-registration heating assistance applications on Monday, October 3, 2016. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides financial assistance to help income eligible residents pay utility bills. 

Pre-registration is for Jefferson County residents who meet the following criteria:

Sep 23 2016 Councilman Hollander Welcomes Red Hog to Frankfort Avenue


Louisville – Louisville’s first local craft butcher shop opens this week, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for Saturday, September 24 at 9:00 am.  Red Hog is located at 2622 Frankfort Avenue, at the corner of Frankfort and Franck Avenues. 
 
The business features pork, beef, lamb, and poultry, all from local farms.  The meat is currently available as fresh cuts, cooked or cured, in the butcher shop.   A café in the same location is expected to open in October.

Ozone is forecast to be unhealthy for sensitive groups (seniors, children, people with breathing ailments such as asthma and COPD). The general public is not likely to be affected.
