Feb 5 2016 Free Classes Available to Help Smokers Quit

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness and its community partners offer free stop smoking classes using the Cooper/Clayton method.  The 13-week program includes weekly support group meetings, combined with the use of nicotine replacement products such as patches and gum.  Participants receive free weekly supplies of nicotine replacement products.

Over the course of 2015, eighteen vehicles were towed to Louisville Metro’s impound lot because they were used in the act of illegal dumping.  More than $23,000 in fines were issued.  All of this activity is directly related to an ordinance passed by the Louisville Metro Council.
