Jun 26 2017 Forbes names Louisville No. 1 city for manufacturing

Citing a resurgence in the auto industry, Forbes magazine has named Louisville as the No. 1 city in the U.S. where manufacturing is thriving. Since 2011, manufacturing employment in the Louisville-area has grown 30.2 percent, bringing the employment total to 83,300 jobs, representing 12.41 percent of jobs in the local economy.

Jun 23 2017 No garbage collection on July 4

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) on Independence Day, Tuesday July 4. The usual Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday, and the rest of the week will follow the same pattern of a one day delay.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit for Eckart America Coropration (Aluminum Powder and Paste Production Facility), 4101 Campground Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. The 30-day public comment period starts June 25, 2017, and ends on July 25, 2017. The construction permit is to add a powder storage bin and screening equipment. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.
