Nov 8 2018 Louisville is battle ready for snow season

Joined by the 265 regular members of the Louisville Metro Snow Team, Mayor Greg Fischer declared today that the city is battle ready for winter 2018-19. Mayor Fischer also named dozens of Jefferson County Public School students as honorary members of the Snow Team.

Nov 6 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

 The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue an operating permit for Reynolds Consumer Products LLC (commercial aluminum foil production), 2827 Hale Avenue, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. This is a standard permit renewal. The 30-day public comment period starts November 8, 2018, and ends on December 8, 2018.  A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Brightside will hold its fall planting event Saturday, November 10 along West Broadway. Volunteers will join Brightside, who has partnered with the Division of Community Forestry and corporate sponsors to plant approximately 115 trees on West Broadway between 22nd and 37th streets.

The work of more than 600 retired and senior volunteers in the Louisville area will be honored at a special event on Wed., Nov. 7.  The Louisville Metro Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) annual recognition event will take place at Churchill Downs’ Millionaire’s Row (6th Floor), 700 Central Ave. from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  The theme is “Everyone’s a Millionaire with RSVP.”

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer today joined community leaders, investors and Louisville Metro Government representatives to champion Opportunity Zones as a new tool to help revitalize Louisville neighborhoods. Additionally, the Mayor released the city’s Opportunity Zones Prospectus, a holistic document that showcases Louisville’s assets and will be shared with investors locally and across the country.
