Louisville Metro Government (LMG) is now accepting applications from local non-profits for programs or activities funded by the following U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants for LMG fiscal year 2020. (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020).

Residents with a past due amount on a current utility bill may apply for services

The annual program that helps prevent low income residents of Jefferson County from being disconnected from utility services will begin on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019.

Jan 2 2019 Mayor announces plan for expenditure of mid-year funds to address homelessness

Mayor Greg Fischer gathered today with Metro Council members, other city leaders and community outreach representatives to release Louisville Metro Government’s plan for using mid-year surplus funds to further address the needs of homeless individuals in our community.

The plan was formally presented to Council by the city’s Office of Resilience and Community Services in collaboration with the Coalition for the Homeless.

Dec 28 2018 Ground broken on future Fairdale Village Green Park

A new park with a bandstand, a trailhead to the Louisville Loop and a memorial flag courtyard will be open for public use near the Fairdale Roundabout this summer.

District 13 Councilwoman Vicki Welch, Kentucky State Rep. Jeff Donohue, Louisville Metro Chief of Community Building Vincent James and others were on hand to help break ground at the four-acre park today in Fairdale.

Dec 28 2018 2018 great year for small business growth in Louisville

2018 was a banner year for small business growth in Louisville Metro with 30 small businesses being approved for loans totaling nearly $2.3 million by the Louisville Metro Departments of Economic Development and Resilience and Community Services. The loans will leverage a total investment of nearly $12 million.  

Dec 27 2018 Mayor Fischer to deliver State of the City on Jan. 17 at Muhammad Ali Center

Mayor Greg Fischer today announced that he will deliver the 2019 State of the City address on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville.

 The address is traditionally delivered to the Downtown Rotary Club at the start of the new year, in various locations. This year’s site was chosen in part to recognize and celebrate Ali’s birthday.

Dec 27 2018 Center For Neighborhoods to reveal three new murals at Park DuValle neighborhood celebration

Center For Neighborhoods is pleased to announce the unveiling of the Southwick Community Center Murals Project. A community celebration will be held on Thursday, December 27 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm in the Sammy Moore Gymnasium of the Southwick Community Center, 3621 Southern Ave, Louisville, KY 40211. The celebration will include a formal dedication of the mural to the Park DuValle community, and locally curated music and community drumming provided by Jecorey Arthur of Athiri/WLOU.

Dec 24 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

            The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise an operating permit for Eckart America Corporation (home appliance manufacturer), 4101 Camp Ground Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The 30-day public comment period starts December 29, 2018, and ends on January 28, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.
