Dec 17 2018 Farm Share Pilot Program Increases Vegetable Consumption in Metro Government Employees

Data from a pilot project that linked Louisville Metro Government employees with produce grown by a local farm indicate that the participating employees increased their vegetable consumption by an average of two servings per day.

Access to Joe Creason Park remains limited on Monday, December 17, as Parks crews work to restore it following the USA Cycling National Cyclocross Championships held last week and concluding on Sunday.

Dec 17 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise an operating permit for Louisville Medical Center Steam Plant (steam production and distribution plant), 235 Abraham Flexner Way, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The District is reopening this permit for cause to clarify Boiler #4 heat input limit is when combusting coal. The 30-day public comment period starts December 20, 2018, and ends on January 21, 2019.  A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Dec 17 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to renew a FEDOOP operating permit for Atkemix Ten Incorporated (remediation, RCRA facility), 6100 Camp Ground Road, Louisville, Kentucky, 40216 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This is a standard FEDOOP renewal. The 30-day public comment period starts on December 18, 2018, and ends on January 18, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Dec 17 2018 COLONELS ACT ON LOUISVILLE HOMELESS; ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO JOIN IN

The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels (HOKC) will award a $25,000 emergency grant for specific tangible items to the Coalition for the Homeless, a Louisville organization working to prevent and end homelessness.

Dec 13 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a renewed operating permit to Ford Motor Company – Kentucky Truck Plant (manufacture of automobiles, light- and medium-duty trucks), 3001 Chamberlain Lane, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. This action is being taken to allow for notification of the public to add requirements that were inadvertently left out of the previously drafted operating permit. The 30-day public comment period starts on December 15, 2018, and ends on January 14, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control Board will hold a public hearing on an Agreed Board Order with Clariant Corporation. Clariant is alleged to have violated District Regulation 2.16 (Title V Operating Permits) at the facility located at 1227 S. 12th Street in Jefferson County, Kentucky.
