Louisville – Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13) has been asked by this year’s Senior Class at Iroquois High School to be the featured key note speaker for the school’s 12th Annual Who’s Who ceremony on Friday, December 20th.
“As an alumnus of Iroquois High School, it is an honor to speak to the future leaders of our community and share my experiences since graduation,” says Welch. “I want to encourage them to further their education and get involved in making a difference.”
Every year in December, the IHS Who’s Who Ceremony recognizes the most distinguished members of its Senior Class for their academic achievement, extra circular involvement and service to community. Several honorees will be recognized this year.
One of the traditions of the ceremony is to invite an alumnus back to school to share their experiences and offer challenges to the honorees to make an impact in their community and beyond.
“I look forward to meeting these outstanding young people. After leaving high school, I went on to become a Registered Nurse for 30 years and public servant through my work as a Metro Councilwoman,” says Welch. “Role models are an important way to inspire young people to look to the future and see what can be achieved.”
The 12th Annual Who’s who ceremony will get underway at 9:00am at Iroquois High School.
