May 21 2015 Mayor Fischer announces plan to save all or parts of old Water Company building

Mayor Greg Fischer today announced a plan to save all or parts of the old Water Company Building and pledged city money to help in the effort.

The Mayor said his team — along with Craig Potts, the state’s historic preservation officer, and preservation leaders including the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Preservation Louisville — have been meeting to discuss options.

May 20 2015 Metro Parks Golf Special for May: Memorial Day Weekend Family Golf Special

Metro Parks & Recreation is offering an affordable family golfing package at its nine golf courses during the Memorial Day Weekend.

For only $20, a family of up to four members can play nine holes at any Metro Parks course. The $20 includes greens and cart fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4:30 p.m. on three days: Saturday, May 23, Sunday, May 24 and Monday, May 25.

Thousands of cyclists, paddlers and walkers will be in motion Memorial Day at the 21st Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike & Paddle May 25 at Waterfront Park. 

“This has become a true signature event for Louisville – a demonstration of how much our residents love being outdoors and participating in family-oriented healthy exercise and recreation,” Mayor Greg Fischer said.
