Mayor Greg Fischer today kicked off the construction of 29 new, market-rate homes in the Cedar Street Development, completing the Russell Urban Renewal initiative, which began in 1990.

Aug 27 2015 METCO Approves 10 Loans, Creating Over 200 New Jobs

The Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation today approved ten loans to four local companies.  The $1.2 million in METCO loans will leverage an additional investment of $5.6 million to assist in startup costs, renovating properties and preparing them for productive commercial reuse. 

Aug 27 2015 No Trash Collection on Labor Day

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) on Labor Day, Monday September 7, 2015. Collection through the week will be delayed by one day because of the holiday.
Residents who rely on private haulers for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection should consult those haulers about holiday collection schedules.

Aug 27 2015 Public Meetings Set on Bike Lanes Planned for Sixth Street

Two public meetings are scheduled to share and receive feedback on plans to add bike lanes to Sixth Street from River Road south to Zane Street. The project is intended to improve the bicycle network by re-configuring lane widths and on-street parking between River Rd and Broadway, and reducing travel lanes between Broadway and Kentucky to provide a buffered bike lane. The project is tentatively set to get underway during the week of September 28.

Louisville, KY - Louisville Metro Councilman Stuart Benson (District 20) will host a series of District 20 Dialogues with the upcoming meetings being held on Monday, August 31 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Middletown Fire Department (108 Urton Lane) and on Tuesday, September 1 from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the Louisville Coffee Company (10414 Watterson Trail).
