Dec 19, 2014 Kentucky Leaders Applaud LIFT Being Named House Bill 1

Today, leaders across Kentucky met in the chambers of the Kentucky House of Representatives to announce that LIFT (Local Investments for Transformation) Kentucky has been named House Bill 1 for the upcoming 2015 General Assembly. Historically, legislation filed as House Bill 1 indicates the measure is the top priority for House members.

Dec 19, 2014 Proposed Title V Construction Permit C-0870-1004-14 for GE Appliances

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit to GE Appliances (appliance manufacturing plant), 4000 Buechel Bank Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.03, for a spray booth. The 30 day public comment period starts December 21, 2014 and ends on January 20, 2015. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Dec 18, 2014 Curbside and Drop-off Christmas Tree Disposal Available

Metro Solid Waste Management will again this year offer curbside pickup of Christmas Trees to residents of the Urban Services District (the old City of Louisville boundaries). Beginning Friday, December 26, residents with City curbside yard waste pickup may set their Christmas trees and greenery out on their regular collection day. Trees must not be in plastic bags.

Dec 18, 2014 Holiday Week Schedules for Waste and Recycling Collection

Solid waste services will be altered under the following schedule for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks:

Garbage/yard waste/recycling

There will be no residential garbage, yard waste or recycling collection on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25 or New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1 within in the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits). There will also be no junk/bulk waste collection in either week entirely.

Dec 17, 2014 Edumedics Expanding Louisville Headquarters, Adding New Jobs

Gov. Steve Beshear and Mayor Greg Fischer announced today that Edumedics LLC, a chronic disease management company, plans to expand its corporate headquarters in Louisville and create 17 new jobs.
