As Louisville continues the transition away from regular plastic bags for yard waste disposal, our Solid Waste division is now offering free paper yard waste bags along with labels for reusable yard waste containers during the balance of the fall leaf season.

Nov 23, 2014 Thanksgiving Week Waste Collection Schedule

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 27, 2014. There will also be no junk/bulk waste collection the entire week.

Develop Louisville (the city’s newly formed real estate development arm of Louisville Forward), has a new pricing policy for hundreds of properties that citizens can buy from the city.  This pricing policy is meant to make purchasing a property from the city more transparent and predictable, while also encouraging redevelopment of these vacant properties.
