Mayor Greg Fischer today unveiled the inaugural project of Louisville Metro’s Public Art Initiative, Connect|Disconnect: A Public Art Experience. The exhibition of five, site-specific installations was created in partnership with Louisville Forward the Commission on Public Art to promote the understanding and enjoyment of public art in Louisville.

Aug 27 2015 No Trash Collection on Labor Day

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) on Labor Day, Monday September 7, 2015. Collection through the week will be delayed by one day because of the holiday.
Residents who rely on private haulers for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection should consult those haulers about holiday collection schedules.

Aug 27 2015 Public Meetings Set on Bike Lanes Planned for Sixth Street

Two public meetings are scheduled to share and receive feedback on plans to add bike lanes to Sixth Street from River Road south to Zane Street. The project is intended to improve the bicycle network by re-configuring lane widths and on-street parking between River Rd and Broadway, and reducing travel lanes between Broadway and Kentucky to provide a buffered bike lane. The project is tentatively set to get underway during the week of September 28.
