ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Absolutely Animals. This teaching specialty focuses on animal adaptations, ecological niches and specific habitats for the many woodland creatures.

Animal Care. Volunteers in this service specialty provide daily care, feeding and enclosure maintenance to the captive animals that call our Environmental Education Center home. Requires a commitment of at least once per week.

Kentucky’s First People. Teaching specialty that guides an exploration of the daily life and survival skills used by Kentucky’s American Indians.

ECHO. Volunteers in this teaching specialty work with children in our award-winning Engaging Children Outdoors program, a partnership with JCPS.

Pond Study. Learn and then teach the wonders of the water world. Help students discover the aquatic life in stream, pond and lake ecosystems.

Survival Skills. A teaching specialty that introduces others to outdoor skills such as firestarting, shelter building and wild edibles.
