Studio 2000 Art Exhibit and Sale Features Young Artists

An eight-week youth visual art ‘learn and earn’ program, Studio 2000, concludes with an art sale and exhibit from 4pm to 8pm, August 8 at the Shawnee Arts & Cultural Center, 607 S. 37th Street.

The art sale will feature student works represented in clay, mixed media and painting, with all proceeds from the sale going to support Studio 2000. Payment by cash and checks only. The event also features a reception and silent auction.

Eighteen students, ages 14 to 18, participated in Studio 2000, learning from and working with professional artists including William Duffy, Joan Firster, Balthus Priest and Gwen Murphy. Students received $500 at the completion of the program.
