Junior Lifeguard Summer Camp
Wednesday June 12, 2013
Louisville Metro Parks Aquatics is offering Junior Lifeguard Camps at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center. Two camp sessions are offered: June 17–21, and July 8–12, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The camps, designed for ages 12 to 15, will teach the fundamentals of water safety, CPR, first aid, and swimming skills in a physically active and fun-filled week of activities. Junior Lifeguard Campers will learn from and sometimes alongside current Metro Parks lifeguards, gaining a true sense of the role, responsibilities and rewards of the job. Note: this camp does not offer lifeguard certification.
The fee is $140 per participant per session. Additional family members may be added for $125 each. Every camper must be able to swim 50 meters continuously and be confident in their swimming abilities. Campers will receive a Metro Parks Junior Lifeguard T-shirt with their registration fee, which should be worn for each day of camp.
For information, contact the Metro Parks Junior Lifeguard Administrator at 502-897-9949. Registration application materials can be picked up at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center in Crescent Hill, 201 Reservoir Avenue, or downloaded by going to: Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center
