Congratulations to the 2009 Worksite Wellness Award Winners!

Mayor Abramson recognized three companies for their exceptional worksite wellness programs at the GLI Annual Banquet on March 10, 2009. The winners in the small, medium, and large business categories are:

  • Zeon Chemicals L.P.
  • University Hospital

The Department of Public Health & Wellness Receives a Grant to Fight Childhood Obesity
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded the Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement a grant for nearly $400,000 for childhood obesity prevention. The Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities grant will address policies and environmental changes with a special focus in twelve Louisville neighborhoods. Learn more.


Louisville is named Most Livable City by the U.S. Conference of Mayors
The City Livability Awards recognize work in improving the overall quality of life in a city, and Louisville's award was based on the work of the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement (MHHM)! “This award reinforces what we’ve known all along – that Louisville is a great place to live, work and raise a family,” Mayor Abramson said.
